in the 60s my great-grandad together with the neighbouring families used to have a brick cooperative. they used to dig out the clay from close-by hills and collectively turn it into bricks to get the material to build their family houses
and barns
the earth from underneath their feet gave a roof over their heads. the land they
settled on provided shelter. they took something from the earth because
that’s all they knew and stopped taking when their needs were satisfied
