(found clay, wood, steel, straw, textiles)
in collaboration with Augustas Holcmann, as a part of Lios Labs Residency
the clay oven, a sculptural echo of the moon, aligns with an offering table that evokes the sun, mapping a space where the elements converge.
this installation reflects a ritualized exchange—salt, bread, and fire—resonating with the cyclical rhythms of landscape and material. drawing on the tactile and
the elemental, it frames a conceptual union between human and earth,
suggesting a constant reconfiguration of selves within the landscape’s power,
a shared act that spans time, space, and the quiet forces of tradition.
the oven is built with clay from a nearby lake. fallen tree branches are
swallowed by the fire we make inside of it. we make korowaj, the wedding
bread and share it amongst ourselves.
