a part of the ‘uroczysko’ series

sculpture is based on a re-written polish folk story connecting the typically
opposite figures of marzanna (winter goddess) and dziewanna (summer goddess) and joining them with a marriage union symbolised by korowaj (traditional wedding bread).
basing its structure on christian church elements (altar, communion bread,
candles, holy water stoup), it is an altar for lesbian romance and the continuous
cycle of seasonal chagnes, where opposing forces dissolve into renewal, intimacy
and the rhythmic core of nature.
