both primary materials used, clay and wax, were transformed into their final states through heat. molecular changes, quartz inversion, sintering, vitrification, solid to liquid to solid. heat is expressed as a form of energy, it’s the movement of atoms within an object. clay form takes after atlas and axis vertebrae that form the joint connecting the head and spine, enabling head movement. 
wax spills over the fired backbones, outside-inside spinal connection, movement at the core.
